Charlie

This is my cousin Charlie. He is the best! Not only can he walk and run, but he loves to dance. I keep watching his cool moves so I can use those steps once I start dancing too!
Here we are with our matching hats from Lolli. Charlie doesn't like to wear his much. I don't know what the big deal is!

Forbidden Fruit

I always suspected that the food on mommy's plate was better than what she was serving me, but now I KNOW! We went to lunch with some of my baby-girlfriends last week and mommy ordered something delicious that she referred to as french fries. Well, I tried and tried to sample one myself, but mommy kept pushing the plate away. Then, she thought she was being really smart when she sat me on the table with my back to her plate, but really that gave me the opportunity to grab a few. When she thought I was chewing on my letter links, I really was tasting the forbidden fruit of the french fry. I didn't get too far. Mommy got suspicious when I got really quiet and she found me out! Then I had to give up the french fry in my hand and the one in my mouth. No fair! I hope those things make it to the menu again soon.

Spa Treatment

I have decided to use my eating time as my spa time. In the morning, I enjoy a peach and oatmeal exfoliant. Later in the day I condition my hair with sweet potatoes or carrots. Hope these treatments keep me looking baby soft.

Sleep

I've learned quite a bit with this Sleep Training! First, putting my feet up in the air is not very soothing. Neither is rolling over. Also, Mommy is a push-over so I cry and cry for her. I know she will come and get me after at least an hour. Daddy is no-nonsense so I can't get away with much with him. And usually I fall asleep after 30 minutes or so.
Here's a picture back when sleeping was a little easier....for all of us!

Helping

I'm always so helpful, but recently I have been especially helpful when mommy changes me. I try to eat the new diaper or the package of wipes. I squeeze my thighs really tight when she tries to put a new diaper on. Sometimes I even roll over before the new diaper is totally on. I can't imagine why mommy keeps saying "don't help." She could be a little more grateful.

Camera Ready

Even though I am just a baby , I have already learned the fine art of posing for the camera. If someone grabs a camera or if you hear a camera making noises or if you see the flash, make sure you face it and give it a HUGE smile. Sometimes you have to change it up and give a Cabbage Patch Kid smile. Definitely stop whatever cute activity you were doing. Candid shots are not as flattering. Mommy says I might get this from her.

P.S. If you can get the camera in your mouth, that's even better! But adults are sometimes tricky with this.

Party Girl!

I have already figured out how to throw the BEST parties!!
First, start at 11:00 pm or 2 am or both! Then try some Theater Coughing to make sure mom and dad know they are invited. You can take a break to play with your blanket or look around, but if Theater Coughing doesn't work make sure you give them a shout out! Cry if necessary (It's my party and I'll cry if I want to) Keep going until someone comes in and brings the food! Then repeat every 3 hours.

Yummy!

I have decided to write my own version of Yummy, Yucky (by Leslie Petricelli). Here we go:
My tea set is yummy. Carrots are yucky.
Mommy's finger is yummy. Oatmeal is yucky.
My football is yummy. Avocado is VERY yucky.
Books are yummy. Mixing avocado or oatmeal with apples to hide the taste is STILL YUCKY! (stop trying Mom!)
Will keep you updated on how the rest of the solid foods are going.

Something to say....

I haven't quite got this language thing down, but I am becoming quite vocal. Some new sounds I like to make are:
1. Theater coughing....especially when no one is looking at me
2. Hissyfit crying...to really get my point across. Sometimes parents take a bit more training.
3. Rasberries...these are my favorite!
Mommy thinks that there are plenty more sounds and words to come. Poor daddy isn't going to get a word in edgewise!

Ta Da!

I'm here!! Mom went it for some gel to help with inducement the next day and then, 5 hours later, I arrived! I decided...why wait anymore!? It must be my time!!
I was 8 pounds and 20 inches. Mommy says I'm more beautiful than she thought I could be!!
My Tutu has been taking LOTS of pictures so you can see me, since mommy and daddy are busy taking care of me.
Here are some:

Worrying

I know mom gets worried while I'm in here. She wants to make sure she makes ALL the right choices so I can get a good start. I think she's doing just fine. So when I feel her getting really worried I like to give her a good kick in the side. I think that makes her feel better. :)

Waiting....

Apparently I was supposed to come last Saturday, but I'm still inside. It's so nice and warm that I'm not quite sure it's my time yet. Plus the room service here is impeccable. :)
Mom doesn't agree! Here are a few things she's tried to get me out:
1. Eggplant Parmesan (yummy...but didn't work)
2. Spicy Food (both Indian and Mexican...both yummy too!)
3. Raspberry Leaf Tea
4. Walking (this just makes me sleepy)
5. Yoga
6. Pedicure
7. Apple Cider (she drank A LOT of that...I think it just gave her indigestion)

My New Digs

I have been ASKING mommy why she hasn't been on the computer for awhile and she keeps saying she's getting the nursery ready.
Finally it's all ready!
She did a video tour so everyone could see it. I can't wait to see it too!!

Snow Day

Mom said today was a "snow day" and tried to go back to sleep. I have not idea with she is talking about, but I did not think it was a good excuse to keep sleeping. I let her know my ideas. Soon she got back up at our usual early hour.

Finally!

An actual picture of me!! This is what I looked like at 18 weeks. Now I'm 31 weeks and as big as a cabbage. But I don't think my profile has changed too much.

Arrival

Mommy was saying yesterday that she really wants to meet me and can't wait for me to get here. I'm excited too, but think I should cook for a little longer. (especially with the nursery looking the way it does!)

Ornery

I like to kick, roll and bump mom and dad, but sometimes I usually stop when new people try to feel me. Mom says that sometimes I'm being "ornery" or a "rascal," but I think she hasn't seen ornery yet.

Christmas

Mommy, Daddy and I had a great time at Christmas! Mom said I got a lot of the "essentials": pink tutu, monogrammed diaper covers, headbands and bows, even a piggie bank with ballet shoes and a tutu. I can't wait to be here next year! (mom says neither can the rest of us)

St. Nicholas Day

For St. Nicholas Day, we were supposed to put out our shoes for him to fill with treats. Sadly I didn't have any, so mom put out a Barbie Shoe that she found. Luckily, St. Nicholas thought of everything...so here are my first shoes! I hope I get a lot more of these, like mommy.

Nursery

Here's my nursery so far. It's not much to look at, but mommy said the walls will be a light pink and the furniture will be all white. They are going to be hard at work getting it ready for me. I guess I should stay in a little longer to let them finish.

Books!

Thank goodness I have been getting lots of books because mommy and daddy are starting to run out of them. Mommy says there will probably be more this weekend since she will go to a Book Shower will all of her friends. I can't wait!
